About Fulfill
Fulfill is a bootstrapped, profitable company growing at a venture-backed pace—without the venture capital strings attached. The team are industry leaders in 3PL matchmaking (they created the category) and are now expanding deeper into the ecommerce value chain.
Fulfill has reached this stage through strong marketing and growth execution alone. Now, the company is investing in engineering as its core driver of value.
Why Join Fulfill?
- Mutual Trust. Fulfill operates on a simple principle: the founders put people before the business, and the team puts the business before themselves. The culture emphasizes genuine care—not performative corporate values. The company backs its people so they can confidently back the business.
- Opt-In Intensity. There is no belief in mandatory fun or forced grind cultures. Rest and sustainability are valued. That said, the team is made up of builders who genuinely enjoy the work. Team members often collaborate on ideas or ship code outside normal hours—not out of obligation, but out of excitement. Autonomy is core, backed by trust in delivery.
- Profitable Freedom. Fulfill answers to customers, not VC boards. This enables aggressive, quality-driven goals and a sustainable operating rhythm: sprint hard, recover intentionally, and retain talent. The company has maintained 0% employee churn over the last three years.
- Immediate Impact & Upside. Instead of competing for promotions, engineers compete to improve the product. Team members work directly with founders, influence the roadmap, and see their work impact revenue immediately. With profit sharing in place, company wins are shared with the team.
The Role
Fulfill is seeking a seasoned, product-minded Engineering Lead to own the company’s technical direction. The role evolves across three phases:
- Phase 1: In the first six months, the Engineering Lead will be hands-on in the codebase—refactoring, cleaning up systems, and strengthening the foundations that power Fulfill today.
- Phase 2: After developing deep product and business context, the role shifts into close partnership with the founders to shape the future roadmap. Fulfill is looking for a strong, opinionated leader who can influence not just how things are built, but what is worth building.
- Phase 3: As the company scales, the Engineering Lead will build and lead the engineering team, defining culture, standards, and long-term technical practices.
Who They’re Looking For
Fulfill is not looking for someone to simply close tickets—they are looking for a partner to help build the business.
- A heavy lifter. Someone who has seen enough products to understand what’s possible and can independently carry significant technical ownership, balancing best practices with pragmatic speed.
- Business-fluent, not just technical. The ideal candidate communicates trade-offs in business terms and can turn ambiguous requirements into clear, balanced execution plans.
- Low ego, high conviction. Strong opinions are welcome, but so is the ability to admit when wrong and synthesize ideas from founders, sales, and the broader team.
