Tanagram was born from a frustrating experience founder Feifan Zhou had while working at Stripe. Early in his career, Feifan shipped a major feature that passed all tests and initially seemed successful — until a hidden issue surfaced months later, causing a complex incident across systems. The experience revealed a hard truth: critical engineering knowledge often lives only in people’s heads, and traditional testing alone can’t prevent recurring bugs.
To tackle this challenge, Feifan teamed up with Shivansh Jagga, an early, an early cofounder who brought deep expertise in building scalable software and designing developer workflows. Together, they envisioned Tanagram as a platform that captures lessons from real engineering work and enforces them automatically, turning tribal knowledge into living guardrails.
Today, Tanagram helps teams ship code faster and safer, making hard-earned experience actionable and preventing mistakes before they happen.
